Chamuze Authentic Item Policy

We believe Chamuze buyers and sellers are fundamentally good. We also believe Nigerians deserve to shop and sell online with confidence and peace of mind. In order to achieve that, Chamuze does not allow the sale of inauthentic/counterfeit items, and sellers found to violate this may be banned from Chamuze marketplace. All items offered for sale on Chamuze must be authentic.

Chamuze does not allow the sale of inauthentic merchandise, including any items that have been manufactured, replicated, or reproduced without authorization. All items bearing a company’s official brand name or logo must have been lawfully made by, for, or with the consent of that company, otherwise the seller is in violation of Chamuze Authentic Items policy.

It is the responsibility of each seller to source and sell only authentic products. If a seller is determined by Chamuze to have sold inauthentic/counterfeit goods, Chamuze may suspend or terminate the seller’s ability to sell on Chamuze immediately, indefinitely, and without warning; and current or future payments held by Chamuze on the seller’s behalf may be forfeited, withheld, and applied towards the reimbursement of buyers.

If a buyer receives an item determined to be inauthentic, Chamuze will not facilitate the return or replacement of this item to the seller and the seller bears the entire risk of losing the physical item, the monetary value of the item, and the privilege to continue selling on Chamuze. Sales of inauthentic/counterfeit goods may also lead to civil and criminal penalties and legal action against sellers by the lawful owners of the intellectual property infringed upon, and Chamuze will cooperate with the appropriate parties in holding the offending sellers accountable.

We take our responsibility to provide a safe platform for buying and selling online in Nigeria very seriously and this includes merchandise/product authenticity. We constantly work hard to improve how we detect and prevent inauthentic/counterfeit products from reaching our marketplace because we know that our customers trust that they are buying authentic products when they shop on Chamuze. It’s our job to provide an online marketplace deserving of trust and this is why we stand behind the products sold on our site with our 100% Buyer Protection program.

We encourage anyone (buyer or seller) who suspects inauthentic items are being sold on Chamuze to notify us by emailing customercare@chamuze.com. We’ll investigate the situation and take appropriate action.
